"Little Authors, Big Dreams" is an event organized by Learner Circle for children aged 5 to 18 years old to publish their stories.
Children can participate by writing a short story and submitting it to Learner Circle for consideration before July 23, 2024. The link to the Word/ Google document can be uploaded along with the form.
Any genre of stories is welcome for submission. The story should be the child's original work, free from plagiarism, and should not have been published on any other platform in any form.
We encourage participants to generate their own ideas and express them in their own words, while also attributing any inspiration or references used in their stories.
Our panel of judges carefully evaluates each story for originality, and any instances of suspected plagiarism will result in disqualification from the contest.
Our panel will first review the story and approve it. The selected stories will undergo thorough proofreading, editing, and checks for spelling and grammar to ensure high quality and readability. We are committed to upholding our standards and protecting the reputation of both Learner Circle and the child authors. Therefore, we prioritize delivering excellence and maintaining the integrity of their work.
Once the child submits their story, it will be evaluated by an editor. Following this, the editor and the child will have a 30-minute conversation where the editor will suggest improvements and collaborate with the child to agree on changes. The child will then submit an updated story version based on the editor's suggestions. Next, the editor will forward the story to the editing team and the illustrators. A final proofread copy will be provided to the child before printing. After proofing, the child will have one last opportunity to make further changes.

During the demo class, our instructor makes them do some very basic steps like Thattadavu and Naatadavu. The child will be assessed if they are able to grasp it and follow the instructor. Some basic mudras will be demonstrated to see if they are able to hold them.
Age is really not a barrier for Bharathanatyam. However, 5 to 6 years is the suitable age for beginning Bharatanatyam. At Learner Circle, we teach adults too, who want to learn a new hobby or return to their old passion.
Starting early can be very beneficial as the child will develop an interest in Bharatanatyam easily. If they are strong with the basics, it will be a smooth transition to the intermediate level. They can take part in performances in school and other cultural events with the knowledge that is gained. This is very beneficial for eliminating stage fear.
It is possible to learn Bharatanatyam through online mode. Our proficient tutors have been imparting Bharatanatyam lessons to students over several years and many students have been performing in international events and stages.
Learner Circle provides the option of 1:1 classes for interested students. However, in a group class, we take a maximum of 6 students in each batch. Our tutor gives personal attention to each student and makes sure they are able to hold the particular position correctly or perform the mudras precisely. Ample time is given for feedback at the end of each session where doubts are clarified and constructive feedback is given to the students.
If the child is able to do all the fundamental adavus with perfection we can introduce the next level to the child where they will be learning songs. The child should be able to sit in the Aramandi position
It is a gender-neutral art and can be learned and performed by both males and females. There are many popular male Bharatanatyam dancers
There is no exact time frame for learning Bharatanatyam. It generally takes 7 to 8 years to learn all the major aspects of Bharatanatyam.
At Learner Circle we have divided the course into 8 to 10 levels.
